Security
Security is our Priority.
Security is of prime importance in today’s world. Air Transat Cargo and its partners provide around the clock monitoring and surveillance of shipments with on-site security officers and closed-circuit video systems that record warehouse and ramp operations. Dedicated personnel monitor every stage of the cargo process on a constant basis.
Dangerous Goods
The transportation of dangerous goods requires added precautions and stringent safety standards. All staff employed by Air Transat and its partners have been trained by specialists in the area of dangerous goods, and Air Transat is registered as an IOSA-operator by the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
The IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) program is an internationally recognized and accepted evaluation system designed to assess the operational management and control systems of an airline. IOSA uses internationally recognized quality audit principles and is designed to conduct audits in a standardized and consistent manner. It was created in 2003 by IATA. The program is designed to assess the operational management and control systems of airlines.
Transport Canada, based on risks, develops safety standards and regulations, provides oversight and gives expert advice (through the Canadian Transport Emergency Centre — CANUTEC) on dangerous goods accidents to promote public safety in the transportation of dangerous goods by all modes of transport in Canada.
