Equipment

Air Transat Cargo operates three types of aircraft as seen in Our Fleet section (A310-300, A330-200 and A330-300).

In order to assure safe handling of the cargo, Air Transat Cargo places it in a ULD container or handles it manually placing it in a bulk area of the plane and securing it in place. Air Transat Cargo uses the following ULDS:

AKE:LD3 container;

ALF:LD6 container;

PAG, P1P: large pallet (88" x 125");

PMC: large pallet (96" x 125");

Air Transat Cargo, through its ground handling partners, makes sure that all personnel called to handle ULDs to be loaded on Air Transat flights must know how to properly handle these devices in the most efficient manner to insure safe and secured handling of all cargo. Air Transat Cargo ULDs control is monitored by Unitpool. All personnel in contact with ULDs must follow the Unitpool rules and instructions. Air Transat Cargo and its partners make sure that these devices are inspected prior to the loading. To accept the loading of a ULD into the aircraft, inspections must have proven its conformity with the Unitpool instructions and the Standard Specifications 50/0 and 50/7 of the IATA ULD Technical Manual.
